Week of 5 December 1927

Friday, 9 December

Edwardstone House

Polly met Eve Farson at Colchester in the morning.

At 1.30 the Colchester Garrison Beagles arrived for a meet at out house. Soon after the hounds were taken to Daking's land at the back of our garden and ran many hares - too many - and very soon got mixed up in Corper? Wood - no kill during the afternoon - too many hares. We gave tea to all (50 had tea) here and we had 12 motor cars in the grounds and several in the road. Altogether quite successful.

Saturday, 10 December

Roddy arrived from London. Mr Thompson (of Boxford) and Mr and Mrs Martin from Waldingfield came to tea.

Captain and Moira Horsefield and Capt Blest? from Colchester and Mr Wellington from the depot at Bury St Edmunds came to dinner. After dinner they all danced to the wireless Savoy Band.

Sunday, 11 December

Lt Col and Mrs Muirhead? and Major Jackson from Colchester came to tea.

I drove the car into Colchester and took Pippa, Betty, Eve Farson and Roddy to the 9pm train for London.
